KYVE is an initiative to store any data stream, with built-in validation. By leveraging the Arweave blockchain, we can permanently and immutably store this data.

- My name is Fabian and I am one of the Co-founders of KYVE. Together with John, I founded KYVE almost one year ago from today. I am a passionate Software-Dev and got into the Crypto-Space in 2019. Since then I am hooked on all the exciting things happening.

- Can you please introduce KYVE and the problems it solves, for the newcomers?

- The big problem with blockchains is that they are constantly producing data. More data needs to be stored by more and more nodes which gets more costly. Because it gets more expensive, nodes might shut down, leading to the centralization of a blockchain. KYVE allows protocols to store the data permanently and retrieve them at any time. This will enable blockchains to become leaner and enable more nodes to participate.
(Translation) Большая проблема с блокчейнами заключается в том, что они постоянно производят данные. Все больше данных должно храниться на все большем количестве нод, что становится все более дорогостоящим. - Then, I would like to start from the first question from community — please explain the meaning of the word KYVE? Does it have any technical meaning? Nowhere in your Medium does it explain the meaning and why you decided to call it KYVE

- That’s a great question! KYVE has a meaning. John and I brainstormed on naming in the first days, and then John thought about archiving data. From there, we abstracted the name into KYVE (ar-KYVE-ing).

- Lets go to the second question — why did you decide to change the Moonbeam network to Cosmos? And Cosmos is also possible to change in the future, or have you already confidently decided to stay here and why?
(Translation) Перейдем ко второму вопросу — почему вы решили сменить сеть Moonbeam на Cosmos? И собираетесь ли вы меня сеть Космос в будущем? Или вы уже уверенно решили остаться здесь и почему?
John [KYVE]
- We are strong believers in the EVM ecosystem, and believe that it is extremely useful. However, when building a protocol on top of it, there are definitely some downsides. By switching to the Cosmos SDK-based chain setup, it allows us to customise the network more, as well as the ability to scale.

- Does KYVE have plans to create a DAO for decision making in the community?
(Translation) Есть ли у KYVE планы по созданию DAO для принятия решений в комьюнити?
Fabian [KYVE]
- We first introduced a governance procedure in our last EVM contract upgrade. A more thorough governance has been introduced in the recently launched Cosmos SDK-based chain, allowing for the community to make decisions about the entire protocol.

- Thanks for that! There is the next question from community members. Community support is one of the most important success factors for a project. Moreover, most large projects include programs that communicate with their consumers. My Requests Do you have any specific plans to attract new members and improve user experience?

- We’ve recently been focused on the underlying technology of the protocol, but now with a successful testnet chain launch, we’re going to be focused on improving our UI/UX as much as possible. If you have any feedback, I’m sure our tech and design team would appreciate it! To further improve KYVE and grow our community, we will be launching our incentivized testnet very soon.

Fabian [KYVE]
- You can use the KYVE token for multiple actions. You can fund a pool or delegate to a node. The funding gets paid to the nodes as a reward. They then use KYVE tokens for staking. In an upcoming release, users can use the KYVE tokens to create and vote on proposals in the governance / DAO.

- Could you elaborate more on how punishing bad behaviour and rewarding valid entries would work? What are the consequences and what is the reward on the other side?

- When a piece of data is submitted by our nodes, every other node performs a validation check. If the data is invalid it votes against the piece of data. If the node is in minority it receives a slash and loses some tokens. If it is in the majority it receives a reward. This system repeats for every piece of data.
(Translation) Когда набор данных отправляется нашими нодам, каждая втоаря нода выполняет проверку достоверности. Если данные недействительны, он голосует против части данных. Если нода находится в меньшинстве, он получает определенную метку и теряет несколько токенов. Если он в большинстве, он получает вознаграждение. Эта система повторяется для каждого фрагмента данных.

- We see that you are currently integrated with about 6 networks. Do you have future plans to integrate even with much larger networks such as BTC, ETH, etc.?

- We are working hard on integrating new Blockchains. With every release, KYVE is becoming more stable, allowing us to store more and more data. We will integrate the big players once we have validated use-cases against the “smaller” chains.

- Do you have plans to attract non-crypto investors to your project? The success of the project attracts more investors who have not yet entered the crypto world. What are the plans to raise awareness of your project in the non-crypto space?

- For now, all KYVE integrations have been focused on blockchain data. However, we’ve built KYVE in such a way that we can in fact archive Web2/traditional data.

- Who is the target audience of your product? Large developers of decentralized applications (dApps) or the average user?

- KYVE is really focused on B2B partnerships. But this only applies for data production. Developers of dApps can then use this data in their applications. For example building a decentralized multi-blockchain explorer. The ‘average user’ can still be a part of KYVE by securing the network and earning rewards through delegation.

- And we have 2 last questions — why did you choose Arweave blockchain? What is the main advantage for Kyve compared to direct competitors Filecoin and Siacoin?

- KYVE is data-storage agnostic, meaning that we can store our data on any base layer (IPFS or others). However, we choose Arweave as our primary storage solution because it allows us the most scalability and is unique for data retrieval. We could switch specific pools to other storage providers if we ever have scalability issues.
